Best in Show is inspired by the spirit of community and collaboration that defines the Foster & District Agricultural Show.

Crafted from materials re-purposed from our previous installation Mycelium3, the Best in Show rosettes transform the traditional symbol of competition into a celebration of connection and collaboration. Rather than focusing on individual achievement, this work emphasizes the collective strength that emerges when we come together.

Inspired by Mycelium3, Best in Show explores the idea that, like the mycelial networks that nourish ecosystems, our community thrives through invisible yet powerful connections. The words sewn onto each rosette—gathered from community members—serve as reminders of the connections that nurture us all.

Just as the show brings together farmers, makers, families, and friends to share their best offerings, Best in Show is a reminder that the true prize is the unity we build when we share our strengths and dreams.
